LTC John J. Acevedo
Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) John J. Acevedo received his commission through the University of Puerto Rico, in January 1996 in the Ordnance branch. LTC Acevedo’s first assignment was at the National Training Center, Fort Irwin, California assigned to the National Training Center Support Battalion. LTC Acevedo served in various leadership positions from Platoon Leader, Maintenance Control Officer to Battalion S3. LTC Acevedo served as a Company Commander of the Delta Company Electronic Maintenance Company, 702 Main Support Battalion,2nd Infantry Division in South Korea. LTC Acevedo was then assigned to the Miami Recruiting Battalion as a recruiting Company Commander for the North Dade recruiting company. LTC Acevedo was assigned to the 309th Training Support Battalion (AC/RC). During this time LTC Acevedo deployed to Iraq in support of OIF from 2006 to 2007 and was promoted to Major. After attendance at the Command and General Staff College, LTC Acevedo was assigned to Korea as a 2nd Infantry Division, 1st Brigade Combat Team S4 and Forward Support Battalion S3. LTC Acevedo was then assigned as the Chief of Plans at the U.S. Southern Command, Miami Florida where he was promoted to LTC. Following this assignment, LTC Acevedo was selected for the AFPAK hands program as an advisor for the Afghan Army with assignment at the Pentagon, Washington DC. There, LTC Acevedo deployed on two tours to Afghanistan and served on the Joint Staff as the Afghanistan desk officer. He also served as an action officer for the Headquarters Army Staff following his last deployment. LTC Acevedo culminated his career as Deputy Plans Chief assigned to America’s First Corps at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA in January 2021. LTC Acevedo has been awarded two bronze stars, three Meritorious Service Medals, two Defense Service Medals and several other Army and Joint commendations. His badges include the Airborne and Air Assault badge, Joint Staff and Headquarters Army staff badges, and Combat Action Badge.
First Sergeant (R) Edward Hampton - "Whatever Craig"
First Sergeant (1SG) Edward Hampton is a native of Cleveland, Ohio and a graduate of its public-school system. After graduating high school, He enlisted in the United States Army Field Artillery corps with 27 years of active duty military service and 16 years as a Junior Reserves Officer Training Corps Program (JROTC) instructor for a total of 43 years Army service. 1SG Hampton served three overseas tours in Germany which includes Berlin, Augsburg, and Babenhousen. He also served tours in Turkey, Hawaii, Poland, Iraq, and numerous stateside assignments. After retirement 1SG Hampton started his second career as an Army JROTC Instructor in Philadelphia, PA at the Philadelphia Military Academy which at that time was the first Academy in the city. He served there for eight years. With a move to Florida, 1SG Hampton was now a proud and honored member of the Everglades Gators JROTC program where he helps students to become better citizens. Go Gators! Also, in Broward county, he taught at the Entrepreneur & Leadership Military Academy and Hollywood Hills High School JROTC where he is currently working.

Sergeant First Class (R) Troy Finley - "GO SERGEANT FINLEY" |
Sergeant First Class (SFC) Finley is a native of Philadelphia, PA and currently assigned as the Army instructor for Hollywood Hills High School. Sergeant Finley retired in 2011 from the United States Army after 22 years of active duty military service and five years as a Junior Reserves Officer Training Corps Program (JROTC) instructor for a total of 27 years Army service. Sergeant Finley previously served as an Army Instructor at the North Miami Senior High School. While serving in the Army he started his military career in Air Defense Artillery becoming Food Service Sergeant and was a member of the All Army Culinary arts team and won several gold, silver and bronze medals. After serving as team leader for the Army Culinary Arts Team he was selected out of the top 10% of the Army to become an Army Recruiter and he finished his military career as the Station Commander of the Lauderhill Florida Recruiting office. He then started his civilian career as an Army Instructor at North Miami Senior High School before bringing his talents to Hollywood Hills High School. Sergeant's Tour of Duties include Operation Desert Storm, Operation Keep Peace, Ft Dix NJ, Republic of Korea, Fort Bliss, Texas, Fort Leonard Wood MO, Stewart Georgia Mid-Atlantic recruiting battalion and the Miami recruiting battalion. He has achieved numerous Awards and recognition for outstanding achievement. Sergeant First Class Finley also held a Bachelor of Science management and Leadership from the University of Maryland. His military education includes Advanced Military Leadership Course, Basic Non-commissioned Leadership Course, Primary Leadership Development Course, Army Combat Lifesaver Course, Certification for Army Instructor through Cadet Command.

Chief Warrant Officer Four (CW4) Eddie A. Jones
Chief Warrant Officer Four (CW4) Eddie A. Jones, a native of Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania, retired from the active-duty United States Army in 2015 after
serving twenty-seven honorable years. Chief Jones served as our JROTC
program Senior Army Instructor from February 2015 to June 2022 for almost
eight years. His military experience, knowledge, and training; as well as an
attuned level of adept people skills, inspired and promoted a cohesive
educational environment built on effort, productivity, and excellence. Chief
Jones is now the Senior Army Instructor of the Entrepreneur and Leadership
Military Academy at Hollywood Hills High School.
